Q: What's the difference between clubs from Made 2 Measure Golf and the big name brands?
A: All the components we use are of equal or better quality to those used in the big name clubs. All the heads are cast and forged in the same foundries. All grips and shafts are manufactured by the same companies that supply the more well known brands. The main difference is that our clubs are built specifically for you and are assembled to suit your game. The question you need to ask yourself is which golf clubs are more likely to improve your golf – Custom built or off the rack?
Q: How important is the shaft in a golf club?
A: The shaft is at the core of golf club fitting. If this part is wrong, then you will always be fighting an uphill battle. The shaft is the only dynamic part of the golf club. Neither the grip nor the club head change shape during the golf swing. The shaft on the other hand changes shape in various ways and at different points in the swing. If you do not get the correct shafts in your clubs, Your golf will suffer as a result.
Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: If you ordered custom built clubs, they will typically be shipped within 5-7 working days. Because of the tremendous selection of heads, shafts and grips we offer, some items will occasionally have to be specially ordered.
Q: What do I do if I want a grip or shaft that's not on the web site?
A: Simply email or call us and ask. If we can get it, we will.
Q: I lost a club and need it replaced, what do I do?
A: Most of the clubs that we sell can be ordered singly. The easiest method of obtaining a replacement club is to contact us directly. We archive all customer orders and can easily reproduce the club from our records.
Q: What clubs are included in my set?
A: Club makeup is one of the most important things in custom fitting. First and foremost, select the clubs you need. One thing about buying from a Clubmaker is you get to select which clubs you wish to buy. If you struggle with 3 or 4 irons, don't buy them. Select Utility clubs instead. These are your clubs so you decide what you want.
Q: Loft and Lie Angle Adjustments - Is it important for my game, and how often should I get them checked?
A: Let's talk about lie angles first. Many golfers think that the direction of the ball will go offline because the toe or the heel of the club digs into the ground (incorrect lie angle). However, the real reason is because the incorrect lie angle causes the face plane or loft of the club to become tilted. Because of that, it would be easy to understand why the lie angle on your short irons (9, PW, SW) are much more important than the lie angle on your long irons (3, 4, etc).
Loft angle is also very important. Clubs as they come from the factory, have a manufacturing tolerance built into them. In many cases, it will be plus or minus 2 degrees. As an example a 7 iron could be 2 degrees weak and an 8 iron could be 2 degrees strong and most likely, you would be hitting both clubs the same distance. At Made 2 Measure Golf, both the loft and lie on all your irons are checked for accuracy before we send them to you.
Q. Do you supply ladies clubs as well as gents?
A. All of the club heads in our range are suitable for both ladies and gents. The specification of shaft, length and grip size will be determined by your answers to the questions in the custom fitting wizard.
Some club heads have cosmetics that would be more aesthetically pleasing to ladies. If this is the case, we will supply these as standard on all ladies orders.
Q. Is it possible to have a personal fitting with a clubmaker?
A. Yes. We are always happy to deal with our customers in person. If you live in the Manchester area or are willing to travel, we can arrange a personal fitting at a driving range where, in addition to receiving personal attention, you will be able to try some of our products before you buy. For this service we make a nominal charge of £20 which can be redeemed against any purchase you make.
